RdB brebas

I've read that Ronde de Bordeaux sets very few, if any, brebas. So, I was thinking the 20 or so that my 3rd year plant had would probably drop. I was wrong. I ate the first one and it was really good. It lacked the flavor nuances of last years main crop, but was sweet and delicious. My plant is in a 1/2 wine barrel and very vigorous. Thank you Kerry for this one, it is amazing!IMG_3618.JPG  IMG_3634.JPG  IMG_3635.JPG  IMG_3637.JPG  IMG_3638.JPG

That is one delicious looking fig!  I am looking forward to getting fruit off of my little RdB in the years to come.  Thanks for the pics Gary!

Congrats.......I am patiently waiting for the 2 I have on my tree to ripen

Looks awesome Gary. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing Gary

Sweet!  Got mine from Kerry too.  But it's had a hard life.  It dwelled in a container for 2 years, then got put in ground with a bad emitter.  We didn't know the emitter was bad until the stress showed.  Mine has no figs this year, but possibly in the future!  Yours look great!

Outstanding pics, Gary!

Thanks very much, Frank. On a side note, I told my friend Joe Lunardi, that if he wanted any fig trees, to let me know. He's in his 80's, still an avid fisherman and gardener, and has the beautiful 50 year old Desert King that I have posted about. He said he had room for 2, so I gave him an extra Marseilles VS Black and my extra Carini. He's thrilled, and got both in the ground right away. They were in 5 gallon pots and had figs already. So now, my mom, Joe, and I all have Carinis. Thought you'd like to know.

I love hearing that, Gary.  My ground Carini is starting to push figs now.  It's on its 5th year but has died back the past 2 winters.  There are probably over 30 shoots that came from the ground.  I can imagine what it looks like beneath the soil line.
