Re chicken manure composted

Please adv if composted chicken manure in retail packaging also has very strong smell ?
The smell will last for how long ? Is there any way to kill the smell once applied on top of the soil ?

Anything composted, if finished composting, should only smell like compost.  Earthy, clean and fresh dirt smelling.

Those bagged manure, they should not be very smelly, However, It is not a good idea to use those manure indoor.

If you use it outdoor,  Sun light can de-odor in few days, it might also kill some pathogens.

I ordered 2 yards mushroom manure few weeks ago, it was extremely smelly, its smell went away in 1 week under our weak spring Sun.

Thanks to Charlie & Ricky.

Hi Ricky, do you know where I can buy some pine bark mulch in Richmond, B. C. ? Have you got some for your backyard ?

I am not able to find pine bark mulch, I find pine nuggets at Lowes for $10/bag = 2CUFT, I go for fir/hemlock bark mulch, They are dirt cheap for $20 - $25 yard, One yard is 27 CUFT.

I got a free sample big bag of fir bark mulch and I am happen with them,  I re-order 3 yards of Top soils plus 2 yards of composed fir/hemlock bark mulch, it will be here next week.

I ordered 2 PH meter online 2 months ago, they never arrive, so I am not able to test its PH level.

I also bought 3 bags of mini bark nuggets from Home Depot last week. I am going to buy chicken manure (composted) from Art Knapp to-morrow for my 20 gal potted fig trees and once I put just a little to begin with then cover by mini bark nuggets as suggested by the local nursery. They claim that chicken manure is better than sheep and steer etc. as long as I just put a little will do. I have one Brown Turkey in ground and I will also put a little to begin with. Hope it will work better accordingly. I keep calling a few nurseries in Richmond for the King Desert but none of them will have stock until mid April.

Do you know if Roberto has Desert King to sell ?
