Record Heat in N Texas!!

My prayers have been answered by the fig Gods!!  I have been praying for record heat to get those figgies to ripen and my prayers were answered - 88 today!!!  Tomorrow will be 85!! Then a cold front comes in and it will cool off to the 70's.

I was out there today and some of them are turning purple - WooHoo!!!   Fresh figs in November off of my own tree -  love it!

Nice Jo-Ann here in Ga was hot today to. I hope you will be able to use some of your figs in some of your cake recipes.

Congrats on the figs. It's supposed to be in the 80s the next few days here too. Doubtfully records for us, but quite warm weather.

I'm jealous. Send some heat up north. We had snow flurries the other day and by the end of the week we're going all the up into the 50's. It's going to be tropical!

Congratulations on your weather wishes!  It's warm days here, getting cooler at night.  Just had a ripe VdB this morning!  Enjoy the last of the season's ripening figs!

Good for you Jo-Ann, I can't wait for my own fig orchard to get established.  I'm so glad I moved to southern TX, lovin' the warmer weather.  Just planted a Celeste last week, have a Smith on the way and a kind forum member has sent a cutting of his Green Ischia for me to root.  Next spring more figs to be planted : )

Congratulations!  I hope you gets lots of fully ripe figs.

There are 8 ripening as I write!!  Maybe tomorrow or Tuesday some will be ready.  Strange though - some are starting to hang but they are still quite firm and they aren't dark purple yet, they still have some green.

Just had a nice juicy Brunswick courtesy of Jason and two plump juicy Paradiso. Have several more Paradiso and Petite Negri trying to get ripe and
one Kathleens Black. That will be it until next year.
