Which fig is the Red Israel/Red Palestine (Khurtmanni)? I’m confused. Any further information on this variety would be appreciated.

Fig Varieties DB shows Khurtmani as a picture of an oblong amber fig. http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_Khurtmani.html

The Red Israel/Red Palestine Khurtmanni fig tree is mentioned/pictured on Gardenweb and looks different from the above: http://forums.gardenweb.com/discussions/1872879/top-5-must-have-fig-trees?n=20

Ray’s webpage shows Khurtmani as a purple-green fig. http://www.raysfigs.com/israel.html

Searches on F4F bring up discussions on whether it is a Brunswick or not.The general consensus is that yes- it’s the same as Brunswick and no –it’s different from Brunswick.

The leaves of Brunswick and Khurtmanni as posted on the Db look identical.

Brunswick’s fruit on the DB page look like all three of the above.

Has anyone actually eaten any of these figs and would comment on the flavor? Honey? Sugar? Fruity? Strongly figgy or mildly figgy? Good/better/best/exquisite?

They are beautiful. It's interesting how the color on the fruit goes from black to red to green.
How do they taste?
