Red Lebanese or Lebanese red

I know they are not the same. Is there any similarities or are both worth collecting?

Does anyone have both?

Hi Hershell,
I've never heard of those.
Where is your source for them ? A nursery ?

Search: "Lebanese Red" (Jake 4/26) thread.  "Trees of Joy"  has one of these varieties listed.

supposed to be very good tasting fig. i have seen it going on the ebay previously. on lot of members wish list. bass has the one that is most desired.

They're both highly desired.  I have Lebanese Red (from Bass) but lost my Red Lebanese (Marius) and am hoping to get a new one.  I don't know of anybody who has then both that has fruited both of them yet but I think they're both worth owning.  A tree of either can cost over $100 on eBay because they're both highly desired.

honest truth is, i haven't looked into it yet... but ditto on what harvey said. for what ever reason, some figs just don't appeal to me... latest one to get my attention is Violeta shown on the forum by francisco.

I have been looking around MD for couple seasons. I have a Lebanese co-worker who says the figs in Lebanon are amazing. She also spent a good amount a time in France and says the lebanese figs are just as good.

Thanks. I really appreciate your help in my learning curve.
