Refrigeration: for dormant or non-dormant cuttings?

Question:

If you have cuttings that come from a tree that is not yet dormant, can they be safely stored in refrigerator for x-amount of time?

Or should only dormant cuttings be stashed in the refrigerator?

Appreciate the feedback, Sara

Cut off any leaves and put them in the fridge with bag, labeled, etc. I've had no problems doing this.

LittleJohn...and this can be done regardless if the plant you are taking the cuttings from is dormant?

People do this all the time with no problem as LJ says.  The refrigerator is what induces dormancy.  I prefer to wait and take mine at a later date, rather than using the refrigerator.  I could be wrong but at least in my mind they are better off getting a good rest on the mother tree as compared to the refrigerator.

Thanks you guys!
