Repoting is it to late

I have this tree that the roots are coming out of the bottom of pot

Should I cut the roots and leave it in the same pot till next year
or is it safe to change to a bigger pot now without the tree going into shock

Suggestions are welcomed

You can do it now. I just up-potted three small plants from smaller pots to 1-gallon pots with no problem at all. If you had potted it recently then you need to be careful with the root ball. If you had potted it last year then most probably it can be lifted from the pot easily for repotting. Good luck.

I think I will change it to a bigger pot

Thanks OttawanZ5

Marjo  --  I was repotting for about 2 hours this evening from newly rooted cuttings to 32oz cups, 32oz cups to 1 gal pots, From gal pots to 2 gal and 2 gal to 5gal pots. Tomorrow morning I will be doing more 2 gal to 5 gal.  Your tree would do well in a larger pot. After repotting, placed in partial shade & gradually over 3 weeks bring it back to more sunlight.

I'd go for it. It will probably have some shock. Water it very well a day before repotting, esp. into the soil where it is rooted in, Take as many roots as possible (cut the pot if necessary), repot, water well, and put it in the shade for a week or two and mist is often to keep up the humidity.

Thank Paully and Pitandiego

I'm going out to change the plant to a bigger pot

Jon you said take as many roots as possible

Do you mean take all the roots even the ones that are outside the pot right

Did you get my e-mail about shipping some cuttings this way?
