I picked this one today. It probably could have used a day or two more. This is the second fig from this tree so far this year. It has a large main crop that is starting to ripen now. Most of the figs are developing a large drop of honey in the eye, though this one did not have that. The flavor is very good. It is sweet and complex.
Great pictures Joe ! Thanks for sharing those. Love the speckling , makes me want this one even more .
Joe,Nice fig and nice pictures. Congrats for this First in the Season. It must be steaming hot over there !?Francisco
Very nice pics Joe. Can't wait for mine.
Joe you sure know how to make a fig look good. Great camera work and a great fig.goss
Makes me look forward to my crop of Black maderias this year, last year i only left three I am leaving between 2-3 dozen this year depending on how big they are and how the weather stays it will be limited to 2 dozen. I remember last year cutting one open for the first time and how blood red it was inside and how syrupy it was. I can't wait until september now.
that looks wonderful. can't wait for the figs to start changing colors.
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. I hope everyone who has a Black Madeira gets a good crop this year. The figs are very nice. For me Black Madeira has been a slow grower, but a heavy bearer of figs. It does well in our hot climate.
Very nice, Joe. Mine grew a fair bit last year (maybe 3 feet or so) but this year it's only grown a few inches, and all the leaves shoe heavy FMV symptoms. It has quite a few figs, but there's no sign that they're starting to ripen yet.
Thanks for the pictures , here in our climate they come later this season but bears well and the taste is magnificent even made a spare.
Makes me hungry!!! I'm going to have to get my hands on a cutting some day!
Nice! And looks looks real delicious.
It looks very good.
Thanks everyone.
