Ripe Panevino Dark

I have it. Louis sent me cuttings about four years ago.
But the sad thing it hasn't fruited yet so I don't know if it is white or dark.

Not because the plant is not performing well. It is a good performer. But the problem is I keep chopping away at it to share with friends and family.

This year I'm not touching it. So I hope I get to finally find out which one it is.

I won a cutting of the third dark Pane e vino from Rafed at last year's Superbowl contest, maybe it will fruit this year (still in a pot, wasn't large enough to plant in the ground last year).  I also just acquired a Red Sicilian cutting from Encanto, so maybe I'll be able to compare.

My take from reading the threads is that Red Sicilian and Pane e Vino dark are related but different figs.  I have both as well and am eager to find out whether they are different enough (and good enough) to keep both in my limited space.

Thanks Bass for the info! I have been wondering about it for so long. Well, I guess for now, I will keep the names separate at least until they both fruit for me and then I will come back and post leaf and fig pics. I love these kind of figs with stories behind them!
