RONDE DE BORDEAUX

My first figs from one year old tree. I want to thank Martin for sharing this with me. I could have left on for a few more days but couldn't resist the figs on bottom are my black unknown both had a nice flavor even though they could have been riper

Hi Sal,
its been a while hope things are well with you and yours.

Are those main crop figs ?
Just curious either way they look nice and hope they tasted good for you in this young season.

Thanks Martin, yes they are main crop. Very nice tasting fig I willl probably put in ground when dormant. I just have it in same 3 gal pot as the pictures I sent to you a while back for ID.

Sal that to me is hard to phantom living in my area that main crop figs already ripe for you. Just i born in wrong state !

Was in yard today looking at my trees after 4 and half inches of rain in 12 hour period with several more scheduled late tonight and tomorrow .
They all look good despite there slow start due to a cold spring.

I look forward to more pictures from your plants this season.

Sal, long time no see.  Glad to see you posting again.  You just reminded me I still need to call Kit back, we got stuck in a phone tag session a few weeks back.

Those look great, I'd like to ask - how do you think your black unknown compares to the taste of the RdB?

I have one of your black unknown that is doing really, really damned well.  I'm looking forward to it.

Nice job! None of mine are anywhere close to being ripe!

Hi Jason. It is really difficult for me to compare the Ronde is a very good tasting fig for first year as was my black unknown in it's first year I think you will enjoy both. What I can say is that the unknown holds very well and is not split prone and can take the rain fairly well when and if we ever get some. Rust and a powdery mildew along with scale is what I'm battling on potted tress my one in ground seems to be doing well. The moisture coming off the pool in the mornings might have something to do with it, as you are familiar with my set up.

Thanks Ken
All the best to you and family
Sal

Congrats Sal!

Those figs look really nice.
Hope to see you soon.

Hey Sal!  Long time no hear!  You know, RdB is my wife's favorite tasting fig.  To her, no other fig comes close.  I am jealous that you have figs now from your tree!  Argh!!!  Mine hit a growth spirt and now have figs too no where close to being ripe yet.  Congrats and enjoy!  Its' going to be a good year for figs!

Hi Dennis, your wife has good taste as this is a very good tasting fig indeed. It also seems to be very productive.
