Well I have done it this time,I started a cutting in water and it went well for awhile then the sun got to the roots and I did not catch it. the roots  initials were white now they are brown on the ends.
What show;d I do just plant it a cup with my normal potting mix  or what?

Would you be able to snap a pic of it for us?  We can give better advice this way.

I do not have the capability to provide pics. I hope this can be done without them the root initials are rather small bumps and the leaves are simple but lush green.

Cup it up. If you got leaves its time you should be fine. I root my cutting in water too. I do it indoors in a window that gets evening light only. Soon as i see good bit of initials i cup them up. I think you should be ok. Also you should change your water evey other day

That is exactly what I will do. I do change the water every day or every other day

About three weeks,does that matter? All the other trees and plants I start in water until the roots are filling the cup of water. This plant just did not flourish.

I never left mine in water more then a week. I didnt think them would root out in a cup of water.
