Hello when you root prune is true you should cut the thick roots out any help would be greatly appreciated

when i root prune i cut bottom and side heres a link where i took a few pictures , maybe you get some ideas. Now i go shovel a little snow this morning.

Thanks for the link Martin I had looked for it but couldn't find it. My HC has got so much roots in these last couple months that I have a hard time putting the label in the soil. Is it better to root prune at the end of the season or before they start to grow?

I root prune mine late winter before they wake up .
