So, I've rooted some cuttings from eBay.In order from Left to right, they have been sold on ebay as:MBVS, RdB, Sal's EL, & Desert King. Do these look like the cultivars they were sold as?Thanks for input!
I think they do
too early to tell, but look right so far.
Keep an eye on the RdB. As it matures most leaves should exhibit elongated fingers. You can search the forum for photos of RdB leaves and fruit. The fruit is also a good identifier.
Hi I've rooted and grown many RdB and have never seen that type of leaf pattern. They are young leaves and may change, but that one looks very different to me
Coop, I agree.
I have rooted many RDB's also and have had that exact leaf shape on some of the young cuttings. I may have a few photos of some let me check.kinda similar.

Hmmm, I have the same suspicions about the RdB but also echo that young leaves often don't know what shape to take and you may not really know this year.
Thanks for clearing that up about the RdB, especially Brian. I am still very new to the world of figs, but like the rest of you, am totally hooked! I just invested $700 in building a lean-to greenhouse on the top deck that faces south. Anything to get a bunch more ripe figs!
Pretty positive that is not RDB.I have a couple plants and a couple cuttings, both with some small/newer leaves. They already have the deep fingers. Actually, all of themI would expect some leaves to have exhibited this by now.Looks like a better chance of being another DK, slight differences noted. Mike
The leaves on young new fig trees are a mess to Id most of the time. Unfortunately it will display more dominant details as it matures Which is why there are scammers out there. They know it will be a year or two before you know you got brown turkey in place of Malta black
