With my trials and tribulations, I have learned if using whole-peat-moss to root your cuttings (most of the timing must be precise or-else 50/50 start rotting). I have found using ((Espoma Organic potting mix with Myco-Tone water saving formula)) while dipping your cuttings into Clonex Rooting gel, your cuttings will not rot at all and root 2 week - a month faster than without using Clonex rooting gel note: I have found there is no need to dome the planted cutting to keep in moister to help it leaf and root. ((the keep moister thing is over rated in my opinion)) Although fig tree cuttings will root without using any rooting hormones. I just paint the cut ends about an inch high (sometimes both ends) then plant in a see-through pot if available with any sterile potting mix. Water well, and just water when the mix is dry or near dry to touch. My grow room stays around 75-80 ºF .The younger the cutting the more success and speed with rooting it. Fig trees are awesome, GOOD LUCK :)
