Rooting and Moisture

Hi all,
And thanks to Satellitehead for making sense.
I recieved my cuttings.   My order was filled as follows...:
- Encanto Red
- Vista
- Panache
- Black Mission
I am planning on using two rooting methods. One cutting of each variety will go in a zip-lock bag to root. The remaining two I am planning on setting directly into a growing medium. All will be kept in a makeshift greenhouse [on the fridge]. I am most curious how some of you water initially; maintaining moisture I understand is key...and patience. Please, any feedback is welcome.

I hope this helps.  If you follow these two threads and the links posted inside, you will know 10 times more than most folks, and hopefully avoid some of the mistakes many of us have already made!

Satellitehead,
"Thanks" seems almost a bid inadequate here.
I will continue reading tomorrow.  ..

Happy to see you on board, fellow fig lover :)

I had a pleasant surprise a couple of days ago.
... I had a cutting that the bottom had rooted then rotted, the top didnt look very good either. I cut the top two inches off and just stuck it into a pot with a grapefruit tree that I had started from seed last summer. I paid little to no attention to it, just watering the grapefruit tree, and Iuse the term loosely as the 'tree' is all of 3 inches high, when the pot had dried out. that wasmaybe a month ago. and a couple of days ago I checked and that little piece of fig tree has started rooting,  seems to be another example that  a little too dry is better than a little too wet.
