rooting cuttings question

so i have two cuttings that have like one long root.  i don't know if i should put it in cups or wait till more roots come out. I'm afraid that i might break the only root that it has when i go to cup it up.

Personally?  I'd wait for more to show, although sometimes that takes time.  To cup it, i like to pour media in, get the root level with the bottom of the media, then pour more on top.  I've broken quite a few myself, unfortunately.

Good luck!

What do you have it in

as media i have 30% perlite and 70% pro mix bx with biofungicide.
the cutting is neggronne

i would have put your same mix and cutting straight into the cup
and save on double handling and no risk of root brackage.

more on the way lol,,   i started with 8 figs in the beginning.

Good question!  I have the same situation...not sure what to do with it.  I only have one cutting that has a long root.  Thanks for asking this question!

Also, where do you buy this stuff that you have it in and is this the complete name "pro mix bx with biofungicide"?

Meg,

Its this stuff:
http://www.pthorticulture.com/en/products/pro-mix-bx-mycorrhizae/
Available at some Home Depot/Lowest stores - the web will guide you to places to buy.  My local Griffin Greenhouse Supply carries it.

Ah, thanks, Andrew!  It looks like it's good stuff.  It's organic, it seems. I have a worm farm and I feed my seedlings worm tea to keep them healthy.  I'll look into this.

I got mine on Amazon since no one local had it . It was a little pricey but well worth it . No rot yet (crossing my fingers ).

Amazon is good!

I don't know where you are located but I found mine at a local hydroponics store. Been visiting that place a lot in the past week or so, lots of cool stuff there for cloning :)

FYI I once purchased pro-mix on amazon and they sent me a bag that was opened and re-taped shut.. Totally infested with gnats too ;( That definitely was no bueno..

I've heard good things about Pro-Mix... No experience though.

Jamie0507: I'm in Southern California.  It's good to know that you found it at a hydroponics store.  I like to shop around for a good price so I'll consider that also.
SuperMario1:  Thanks for your input on the Pro-Mix.  Sounds like a good product.
