Rooting figs

I have read 1001 and one methods on rooting figs, and am modifying one I saw on Youtube that appealed to me.  I live in Northern California so I feel like it should be pretty easy.

The method I am using is to put the cuttings in moist green moss inside of a glass dish covered in saran wrap.  My dish has a lid but it isn't clear, and I wanted to set the dish in the window sill to get a bit of heat.  My windows are tinted so it shouldn't get very hot.

After it roots I will try transplanting to a soil mix.  So far it has only been 2 days but I already see roots starting.

Is there anything I need to be aware of, like too much moisture, or letting it air out sometimes?

I found a potting mixture at OSH that says it is 70-80% perlite/sphagnum moss.  I don't think it has any perlite.  Will this work or should I make my own mix?

Thanks for any help :)

The lid on my bin is kept propped open to maintain humidity level around 75-80%.  I remove the lid once a day to allow for some airflow.

Last year I put the bins next to a sliding glass door and controlled the heat with the blinds. Eventually, I moved them away from the door.  Ideally, the temp should stay about 72F.  Cooler than that will slow down root production.  Warmer will encourage mold growth.  I do not think you need so much light / heat as a window sill for cuttings.
