Rooting in summer.

Have anyone tried to root some cuttings in Jul-Aug?
Any rate of success?
I think Im going to try to root some Panaches but Im not sure if I should do it the same way as dormant cuttings.

From my experience, cuttings root much faster than from a dormant tree. Last year my Goutte 'd Or cuttings rooted in just 6 days. Success rate was 100%...
Make sure not to use wood that is still very green.

As a matter of fact, just bought some cuttings from eBay about 3 weeks ago and out of 12 cuttings, 9 have rooted successfully and are currently leafing out beautifully. 3 didn't make it as they rotted.

I think if you obtain them locally, you have a chance.  But if you order on Ebay or from someone across the country, mail carrier's trucks are HOT, and depending on shipping, your cuttings could be toasting in a truck for days!  My experience with summer cuttings has not been good.  All have arrived slimy and rotting.  I prefer dormant.

Hi my friend!
I just read your post here abd I am wondering
If you bought those cuttings from me. I am really interested to know the about the rooting success rate. If you say 9 out of 12 then I consider it a success , don't you :) ?

I root cuttings all year round with a high success rate as mentioned in a few recent posts. The most recent batch... 11 out of 12 rooted.

I also root cuttings all year round, but in the cold winter days, no no no, there will be troubles for sure ,rooting process needs warmth.
