Rooting Lazy - Easy

This year i was a little lazy so i decided i will just stick all the cuttings in a 15L water bottle.
cut the top open 90% of the way
fill 3"-4" of moist medium
stick in the cuttings
water once every week or 10 days, very little water
shut the lid close to maintain humidity
pic of roots is 3 weeks later!

should be ready to transfer to individual pots by the end of the ice age (3rd week of may in my area)

good luck and great season everyone

This looks very promising.  This is the first year I am attempting to root cuttings and this method seems simple and effective enough for a newbie like me.

Hi Eli.
Nice job.
Glad to see you post again.
Vito

looks great!  Congrats!

Good for you, like the comment about ice age as its been a long winter it seems.

these are cuttings from last fall. i scratched the bottom of some of these to see if it makes a difference and i think it does!
but did or used nothing else.

Tell me, 7676: how do you plan to separate the individual rooted cuttings when the ice age is over in May and you want to transfer the individual cuttings to a container? Will they separate easily?

Joe

BTW: I like your "lazy" system...good as any!

what about the names of the varieties/?  Looks like a nice success but it's a mess with no names.
