I know you can make new fig trees via dormant cuttings and from air-layering. Have any of you had success rooting a green cutting? If so, what did you do? Thanks.

There's a good blog post by Bass on this. I've tried this myself and got one out of 3 to take.
Awesome. Thanks.
Excellent tutorial!
I did this on a fiddle leaf fig and it worked for me.
I've done it several times by just taking the green cutting, stripping off all of the large leaves, and then sticking in a pot of potting soil. I keep it fairly damp and in the shade until its rooted. Works great."gene"
Did like Gene did .Gene is one smart quiet fella.
Sounds good. I may have to go out to gather some "Carolina Beach Unknown" for experimentation.
Got some cuttings of the unknown tree today. Crossing my fingers. I've got the cups covered with baggies for humidity and they are sitting on my heat pad that I use for seed starting. Should I leave the plant light off or turn it on? There is some light from the nearby window.
Thanks Martin, but I'd like to think of myself as practical."gene"
Search on You-Tube for the Ray Givan video showing the methods used for the rooting of green, fig cuttings. The process is explained in great detail. I'd link this video to this post, but I don't know how....sorry.Good luck, hope this helps.Frank
Here is the link.
Great link. Thanks, Sam and Frank.
Thanks for the link. I keep seeing fig trees that I want to 'capture'. :)
The latest is a large tree growing behind an old Victorian farmhouse that was an original ranchhouse for my area. It's probably another mission fig.
