roots...

One of my UCDavis Kadotas is rooting!  its got 2 that I can see, they're pretty thick, and small at this point, but growing fast.  Almost doubled in length in 24hrs.

I know this is a good sign, but I'm wondering, have people had cuttings root, and then never go anywhere?  There is no tip on this cutting - it had dried/died, and I cut it back to 'living' tissue, as a last resort.  I'm just crossing my fingers and keeping an eye on it, the other 2 cuttings have not done anything yet, but I have not given up all hope, yet :)

I have seen a couple cases where a cutting rooted and never budded out. Probably something wrong with the buds. Not having a cutting with a terminal bud is not a problem, but you do have to have a viable bud somewhere on the cutting (even under the soil lne is OK).

Hence the term "One node wonders" - though that usually refers to a cutting the began witgh a single node. It only takes one.
