roots, wood, no nodes - what are my chances?

I got two cuttings (among many) with roots and wood but no nodes.  What are my chances of getting plants to grow from them?  Thanks.

Without a bud somewhere on the cutting you won't get new growth.  But some buds are very hard to see.  The area below the fig on this stem is loaded with them.

I prefer at least 3 nodes but I'm rooting some with two.  One below the soil line and one above.

You can do it with one but it will be more of a chore.

Fignut is right. Sometimes the node is next to impossible to see when bunched up together like the pic. I was able to get more out of short cuttings when the nodes are that close.

Roots with no nodes? That is very interesting.
Roots usually grow from a bottom node.
I think that node is there,so if you feed it carefully with small amounts of water,so that the roots will not rot, you will see a bud growing from the same spot the roots are coming from.

Sage words from Herman. Heed them.

Think of how suckers (plant suckers) are formed in the root system.
Also, I too agree with Herman. That needs patience and the shoot will eventually come out.
Happy New Figs Year to all .....

If it has roots, then it will probably force out a bud either above or below the soil line. Give it time. Good luck!

Thanks!  I already potted them and now I have more hope.
