Rot + Strong Growth?

Hey guys,
A cutting is growing above and below with many roots. The lower portion however is rotting. Will that affect the rest of the plant? It is rotting below the roots.
Need urgent help please.

Just cut off the rotten portion. It could progress up the cutting. It's possible it won't spread but why risk it.

I have had plenty survive having  the rot cut off, but ones I ignored  died..

Thanks I cut it it looked okay because there were many roots above the rot line but I didn't take any chances.
