Rouge de Bordeaux n Sultane

Made up almost 10cu feet of mix in cart today that was a lot of work for me.  Put Rouge de Bordeaux and Sultane in these clay color containers.

Both beautiful trees, Martin.  Both varieties that are very interesting.

Good!

Just made it easy for me.

Thay are beautiful!!!
And I still don't have both of them:-)

Rafed, you might be facing some competition next year if I retire. I'll have all that time on my hands and I love to travel the back roads and byways, even some city streets.

Martin, very nice looking trees but I have a question for you. At what point do you pinch the top to promote the growing of branches. Do you wait until after the growing season and prune the top off. Most of my figs will be in the ground but I might keep a few in pots and I'd like them to look like your beautiful trees.

You certainly have cracked the code for successful potted fig culture. They look great.

Thanks for the reply's and nice things to say.

I enjoy taking the pictures and showing my plants and really really enjoy very much others pictures , i have fun when i see something thats neat like in another thread when i was out taking pictures and saw a bud tip from a lower branch growing through a leaf that was cracked .

But its not me that does anything special for my fig plants.
I just do the normal things with them and they do the rest and thats what i love about growing figs there simple until i have to root prune them which is every year now because theres more of them.

Problem i'm having this season is to fill 2 rows of bush beans and 2 rows of italian spinach for a fall crop. Other rows of seeded veggies i did are doing well maybe it was those seeds.

Gene as a matter of fact i was out this morning and looked at Sultane plant and said "Your tall enough now" so i pinch the top and clog it with the potting mix.
I first go for the height and pinch anytime in season when it gets there.
Sometimes i get some dieback on young branches during storage but i get new growth come next season anyways so its ok for me.

Rafed i do not think i made easy for you. Its already easy for you to grow the fig plants and you certainly know how to put into bigger containers.
Lets see some more of your pictures i enjoy seeing others plants in there yards .

Martin,

You made it easy for me to locate your figs at night. LOL

I'll be happy to show you some more of my figs. I will be home tomorrow and taking a week off. I will be taking the family out for a few days but will have plenty of time to take some pics and share with you and all.

Like messing with you.

Martin,

You made it easy for me to locate your figs at night. LOL

Yes i dont move the figs much unless its going to storm/high winds and or hail.
Leave in eve as your 290 miles away about 5 hrs drive this way you can view my figs at night like you mention.

Bring good flashlight to view the trees it gets pretty dark here but Butch's eyes do glow somewhat in the neighbors yard light.
 ; )

Try not to leave your underwear on the fence this time, Rafed. ;)

I'll bring some Scooby snacks.

Rafed i do this for you as i deleted these pictures because i did not like the way they came out. Brought back from recycle bin to hardrive for a spell.

Just to make it easy for you as you say.   ' )

In one picture you can see gate and the mailbox i mention just for you.

Also for your ease some of my patio plants in other shot.

But i dont have a lot of plants compared to most folks on the forum and you may be disappointed to travel such a distance for so few.

Oh i want to mention i named the files after you and also watermarked the pictures just for you.

Like you i also like to have fun .   ; )

Hold mouse no click to see your special file name then click it to see your watermark .  ; )

Martin,

You neighbors garbage cans will be handy as all I will need to do is stack the pots in them and just cart them away.

You are great!

But please will you label the figs for me. I have priorities.

Thank you and nothing but love, Brother!

Rafed,
now thats a darn good idea you have there !

Just be careful with the green one as its a recyle one and he is retired and takes his van out and collect all kinds of scrap , he does make a good buck i tell you and knows all the current prices of the different metals and stuff.

But please be careful because he keeps lots of busted up glass in the one bin from when he disasembels stuff and the other is his smelly garbage.

Plus um
wait
let me do my
"elmer fudd" impression
Plus
"you want to be verry verry quiet".

I do label them , but i can tell you each ones type without any label of figs cause i see them everyday.

Please be careful - dont want you to get hurt with that glass and im sure you dont want to be real stinky on that loooooong drive home.

I do have great suggestion for you though.
But i wont tell you.  ; )~
