Dominick you mention
But a sprout from below the root line emerged and it is completely free of any signs of rust, deformity or FMV. I would still go with severe FMV but the root sprout has me second guessing.
Dominick i write this from my experiences only
What i have read in past about Fmv and my similar experiences watching FmV in my tree's the virus "tends" to move slowly.
This is why i see it on some branches and not on others on my plants.
As a note i have plants that were several inches tall at beginning of last season and grew 3-4 feet with no FmV that i could see.
Then this season it shows very well.
For some of my older plants the virus plays a game of hide and seek , a few show virus heavy early in season and late in season its there but hardly noticeable.
Its ok "for me" though as long as they produce good figs and dont drop i dont mind it at all.
Some of the best variety's have the virus.
