This is my first Salce fig from Saxonfig cuttings. It is a medium size fig and has a jelly like honey flavor. It is different but has a good flavor. I can only assume that it will get even better with time. I do have it planted in ground. About an 7.5.
That looks like a nice fig ......my cuttings never rooted..
Mike, Nice pictures. I agree that it does have a different flavor. It's a keeper for me.
beautiful fig. my salce is still very small but that certainly is something to look forward to
The inside looks so yummy.
Very nice, looking forward to this one next season also. I just knocked off 4 figlets on my first year Salce. It was slow to get going but it's finally putting on some rapid growth. Nice pics!
Very nice, Mike. Here in NY I've got some main crop figs on Salce for the first time (first year), so if it stays warm I may get to try this variety this year also. Very nice picture of a very nice fig.Mike central NY state, zone 5a
Salce looks great to me. Thanks for sharing
Just had the second fig and it was much better without any rain. It was an 8.
Alright maybe it will just keep on improving
Three weeks later and finally another ripe one. It looks like it needs a long growing season and plenty of heat. It ripened withover two inches of rain and did not split or was not watered down. I believe it will continue to get even better. It is stillat least and 8 if not a little better. I have it planted in ground and it will stay.
Mike,Just got my second or so today as well. I wish I had taken a photo, it's a really nice looking fig.
