salce fig growth height (width)

maybe I have now figured it out.  I expected emails to the replies but have received only one (I see there are several notes responding to my question on the forum).  anyway the question is how tall can I expect my salce fig to grow and do I need to mulch it for winter in our newly labeled zone 7 (we had a zone 4 winter right after they tagged us zone 7 but that shouldn't happen EVER again).  thanks for all the assistance folks.

This fig was grown  in the village of Fornelli, south of  Castel Di Sangro and due west of Isernia. It was collected and brought here maybe forty years ago. Climatological information information for  Fornelli can be found at http://en.climate-data.org/location/115106/

Dale, Thanks for that interesting story on the source!
Given the avg Jan temp of Fornelli is 5.8C I better keep mine in a pot.

Hi dirtdigger,
You know what people say: "better safe than sorry ... " . So plan to protect your trees .
Search my post on winter protection for some ideas .
How tall, a fig tree does grow, depends on the will of the owner .
In Zone7, I keep them between 1,50 meters and 2 meters .
IMO: Nevertheless higher is just for advertising for critters to come and I don't plan on buying a ladder for the harvest .
