Came home from vacation today and found a bunch of ripe salce figs on 
my trees . The birds beat me to a lot of them but there still was plenty for everybody to eat and then some. I put these pictures on here because a lot of people have this fig now and nobody has seen pictures before. This fig is not very big as i have always said, but to me it is a giant on taste.

I think they kinda look like some Celestes!  ?:~)  Delicious looking, of course.

I have heard that taste and performance of fig varieties can vary greatly depending on soils and climate. Since you have grown and eaten Salce in both Italy and Kentucky, have you noticed any difference in this fig between locations?

I look forward to obtaining some Salce cuttings this fall.

Uncle Luigi's salce figs were pretty large.

I,m glad to see the Salce fig, I got cuttings on eBay and I think they all rooted.
I can,t  wait till next year to taste them.

womack the fig tastes the same in ky. as it did in italy. Slingha the reason uncle Luigi's figs looks big it is because it's not a salce. Unlcle Luigi has a lot of
the same figs i got, they all came from my hometown in Italy at one time or 
another and we don't grow any other varieties. Nobody had salce figs until my father brought it over and last year i gave my uncle Luigi one plant . This year i brought my uncle peter one plant. My uncle Luigi grows figs because his wife likes them, but he doesn't know much about figs. Last year i give Bill all my cuttings which he sold on e bay and i will give him all my cuttings this year. I don't sell fig trees i send cuttings to people and i even pay the shipping and don't want nothing in return but sometimes people try my patience. I have send cuttings to people spend $10 on shipping send 2 or 3 variety and i don't even get a call to acknowledge that they have received it. I know that not everybody on here is like that there is a lot of nice people and i wish i could send everybody some cuttings . Vito you will love this fig.
