Salem Dark breba 2012

Only had fig one this year, this tree was rooted in 2011 and grew to almost 5' tall in one season with a 1.5" caliper trunk base, one 1" caliper trunk and an offshoot 3/4" caliper trunk offshoot.

Not sure what the breba crop is normally like on this variety, since it's new to me.  Original source is Bass/Trees of Joy and made it to me via Florida.  I'm away the next two days and this was already drooping with a dark splotch on one side so I picked.  Might have needed two more days, but I wasn't risking missing the only one.  Bad choice?  Maybe.

The skin was soft and extremely sweet.  No seed crunch.  The interior had a hint of strawberry flavor (that straweberry acid and taste) with a hint of fig flavor.  Zero richness.  I think it needed to sit on the tree until shrivelled and dangling before picking.  Hoping for more out of the main crop.

Nice interior colour. Ya, need a couple more days. I would have picked it too given the circumstances of travel. Thanks for posting the pic's.

Looks/sounds promising.

Promising indeed. When you can, will you please post a photo of your tree?
