Inside looks very yummy.

Oh yes, it surely does.

John, very nice looking fig. Can you describe the taste?

Can anyone confirm that "Sal's Corleone" is also known as: "Schar Italian".

Not sure Frank ..this is my first year with this fig.......but it's a keeper so far

@Frank

Yes, it is. It splits badly if it rains. Very prolific though!

Dennis we had 2 days with rain last week and there was no splitting on it what so ever ....Dose it happen to main crop figs only or to both main and breba...

Dennis-

Thanks for the confirmation.  I thought I read that 'Sal's Corleone' and 'Schar Italian' were both the same.  I bought one from Durio Nursery, and unfortunately, it did not survive my NYC winter.  My tree was containerized, which didn't help.

Frank

Hey Frank if you want 1 I can start an air layer for you and meet you in the Bronx when it's ready ....shoot me a Pm if you are interested .

deerhunter...you got mail.

Frank

Noss,

I had an organza bag on it to protect it from the birds ..But the fig was to big for the bag and got it squeeze in...so that is why the shape is off.

I hope mine holds up during the continuous rains we are getting in So. Florida, yours looks great.

Good luck with it....my did pretty well even though we had a few days of rain last week before I pick it . That was my fear that it was going to split ...
