Sal's Corelone BC#31 Breba

With all the rain and flooding we've had, I really did not expect to get any figs yet.  But last week some of the rain stopped and the heat came.  Brebas are usually large and many very tasteless.  Over the past 2 weeks, I've picked these brebas:  one Peter's Honey, 1 Hardy Chicago, 1 Italian Black, 1 White Triana, 4 Desert King, and now this one Sal's Corelone.

I'm surprised the birds did not get to this one!  The others listed above were not worth mentioning but this one was.  THis SC weighed 90g and was semi sweet.  Tasted like a sweet watermelon.  This morning, I surveyed my whiskey barrel figs and looks like I'll have a few Improved Celeste coming today or tomorrow.  The rain started again!  I have some others trying to ripen but if it rains most will just suck water and not taste good.  I moved my large Salem White under my EZ-Up yesterday.  I have yet to taste one of these figs!!!!  I don't understand this weather!  All 10 of my Lyndhurst White trees are trying to ripen also!  Instead of doing the rain dance, I'm doing the sun dance!!!!

thanks for watching!

looks wonderful dennis. we are still getting daily shower.. usually overnight. come out of my house in the morning to see my truck covered in rain. but there is definitely more heat now. the trees are showing heat stress. leaves are drooping after 2 days without watering. some of the trees are putting out more figs. hope the weather change for the better next month.

Nice size breba there Dennis.
