First fig from this tree thanks to one of our fine forum members from the Detroit area. A medium size fig that is very jelly like, not overly sweet and a hint of berry and melon. About an 8.
Eight is good, I have 2, does it have a large eye or does it just look like a large eye?
very nice fig Mikethanks for the info.
andreas, the eye is rather large and opened up late in the ripening process. I unknowing opened it up even more when I pressed down on it when I placed it on the plate. No rain here so I don't know how it would have reacted to lots of rain.
Looks like a good one!A silly question perhaps, is Sal's Corleone different from Sal's GS and Sal's EL? I haven't been able to find anything about that.
Kelby, not a silly question but yes and yes. LOL
Mike i am very impressed with your figs.i like the fact that you can describe the flavors. (i wish i had that super power) LOL ;-))can you please write me your top five as far as taste goes when you get a chance.again thanks for your time and help.
I have one of the Sal's figured out which one once forgot to write it down. I guess now I need to go back and try to figure it out again. Thanks for sharing Mike
I'm starting to think I should move to GA...
Kelby, assuming "GS" stands for "Gene's strain" then Sal'sGS and Sal'sEL are slightly different names for the same variety.
