Sal's EL

I was lucky enough to have a super nice member send me a couple nice plants (Sal's EL and Marseilles VS Blk. I have been plucking off the figlets except a couple on each plant..The Sal's has one fig that is about the same size as a dime or smaller that is turning purple, my question is, is that normal?

I had that happen on a Sal's C. 2 weeks ago when I removed half of the figs and pinched. They haven't fallen off but they are a light purple and getting larger. But it was hot (mid 90's) when I did it so I assume that could have affected it as well.
