Sals EL 9-19-13

One more new one for today. This is another excellent tasting fig. Very jammy, just enough sweetness, a little figgy and a little crunch. A big 8 on this one.

Thanks Mike.  I must be the only fig fanatic who doesn't have a Hardy Chicago.  However, I do have a Sal's EL (and a couple other Mt. Etna types) and am looking forward to fruit next year.  With limited space I figure since I have the Sal's I don't need a HC since they are nearly identical.  Do you have both types and can you detect a difference?

Steve, although my Sals EL is a young tree the fruit seems much richer and complex than the HC. In the end, one of these
will go to a friend with acreage and his growing orchard.

I'm on the list with you Steve.  I have not owned a H.C. and my Sals' (both EL and Corleone) passed on several years ago.
