Sal's EL indoor figs.

Up-potted from a quart to gallon on 1/19.  It pretty much has stayed this same size for a couple months.  Suddenly it's putting out three baby figs and new lateral buds.  It's 6" tall to the tip, which is about to open up with new leaves.

Went outside for the photo since it's very mild today.  This plant had some nice roots when up-potted.  Should I remove the figs?  Not sure what they will do on this size of plant indoors.  Still several weeks away from transition to outdoors.

Hey Charlie I had a 1-gal Sal's EL last summer, I picked several fig embryos off of it, but I have to say, whether I pick them off or not, most of my 1-gals just stayed real small no matter what I did. By the same token, leaving figs on will definitely lead to slow growth. The best remedy is a long, warm growing season. Which of course I do not have in the Northeast.

I would pull them off, let the little guy grow and get really established first.

Charlie, we are synch'd!

Just noticed these when I watered on Sal's GS from dfoster:

Guess what, I picked my first(unripe) maincrop fig today!

Save the figs !!!!!!! Just kidding guys, Rafaellissimo and Scott are probably right. Both little trees look awesome, well done Charlie and Jesse!

looking really good.

Charlie,
What a beauty :)

They kind of pop right off with a little side pressure.  It's bleeding. :(

Hi Charlie,
I would have put that tree in a 2 gallons pot .
The more dirt, the more they want to grow - just my experience .
If you pot up to a "small" container, you're slowing them.
Since that tree is a couple of months old, I would keep the figlets and fertilize the tree ; more ? . Did you fertilize it ? And I would up pot in 2 months - fig trees don't like to be disturbed too often.
Normally fig trees respond well to fertilizer .

I would put it in a five gallon if I had room.  Right now I'm limited with this one room and one light.  Come springtime they will be up-potted again.
