Santa's List 2013

Just for fun. If you could only ask for one variety what would it be? I would want a col de dame Gris to eventually try in ground in my area.

I look forward to hearing everyone's responses, and who knows maybe a generous member will make a wish come true.

Mine would be a Italian-258 with a Nordland grafted on one side and a Nero 600m on the other side!

How about Maltese beauty. CDD Gris would be nice also

Really want to try a Nero 600, all the talk of rain resistance.

Martinenca Rimada, I want to have a small verigated section to my fig orchard

Thanks to the generosity of two local forum members I have my first couple of young fig trees, and thanks to them and several members distributing their spare cuttings, I have about 12 varieties to root after Christmas. All I want now is my first home grown ripe figs :)

Would love a Maltese Falcon...

would love to have  black madeira and col de dame noir

Figo Preto or Col de Dame Noir would light my tree

I would just be happy if my cuttings root. But I would like a nordland.

Col de dame noir and or gris, and maltes falcon. Other than that any other early fig I don't have.

Any Black Fig from Martin......its on my bucket list...LOL

At first I was going to say I can't think of anything at all...really.  Then I remembered a beautiful red fig I've only seen in pictures.  Maybe it will be found here in the USA.  I mostly hope that everything I have grows well for me in 2014.

Oh wait, now I'm waking up....then there are some figs from http://www.ficuscarica.com/carica.html that would be nice, especially one of the Rigata figs.

My wish list has them all!

Please God give me some Negronne and Black Madeira..tree . I know theydoes not exist in Australia, but never know may be one day someone will bring it from overseas.

i just want world peace.. wait, i'm not on miss america. i want CdDG, but that can wait..

It's Christmas, I'd love "Ice Crystal." Ask me again in the spring and I'll have a lot more!

Zingerella AKA Gypsy

I can't stop thinking about souadi since seeing it (and losing) on eBay.

Would love to give a Ronde de Bordeaux cutting a try.

I've seen a few pictures of a red Lebanese or red Italian. Since I've never actually seen a red fig, I would love to find one of those to grow.

HAHAHA...I was thinking the same thing as I read down the list.  Someone needs to breed a fig and name it 'World Peace' so we can wish for it and actually get it!

Hum, what would the attributes of a fig have to be to get that name....

1) When you taste it you are satisfied and want for nothing other than to share it with your neighbors.

2)...

Ficus afghanistanica seeds

Well, I wish to find a strain of big fig that would ripen here.
I know where there are three such strains at three different places. I'll have to have Santa Claus to ask for cuttings .
Those figs look like pears / half the size of a pear williams .
I did not know that such figs did exist !
So Santa Claus ... Go for cuttings for me !
Don't ask for the name of those varieties ... I have no idea, because unfortunately, I haven't seen them in any nurseries ... One of those hidden heirlooms strains certainly...
