Santa's List

The fig at the top of my Santa's list is Ronde de Bourdeaux. Everything that I have read about it is good and it is such a beautiful fig! Should handle the weather here, too.

John,

Read your email;)

This year was a pretty good year to me.  While some varieties remained on my wishlist, it's difficult to ask for more.  So I'll wish for all other fig lovers' wishes to come true, and for everyone to have a great 2013.

Apparently, Santa Rafed's truck could cross the Atlantic. Got to love those Michigan reindeer. Thank you!

John,

Does this mean I need to find names for all my 18 tires?

"On GoodYear ... on UniRoyal ... on Firestone and Pirelli! Santa Rafed is bringing figs to the world, fresh, dried and jelly!"

LOL
Your response may be a bit whitty, but you forgot about little sister Kelly.

She's in there. We have 14 more to call, so many that I may have to turn to more obscure brands.

Yokohama, Bridgestone and Daytons.

Comon guys. Need your help for some names.

Kumoh, and Cooper, and Sumitomo.

And do you recall? the most famous tire of all... Michelin

Um just one variety for Christmas? I guess it should be a good one then. I have been trying to locate the elusive LSU Red so that's the one for me Santa!

Few acres of land in Z8-9. That's all.

Barry, you have an email. Just need your mailing address.

Navid.

dear santa,

i know you have some special skills. i don't want any new figs for the christmas, but i would like to eat my Black Madeira by easter. can you arrange something with easter bunny?

nice pete

One variety from Mosserat Pons collection:
De la Reina or whatever else I haven't heard of

Pell Verd (a.k.a. Pell Verda)  This one would be fantastic to find.

Maxxis is my contribution to tire brands/ Rafed's tires.

I have never heard of some of these varieties. LSU Red and Nexoe. I don't reckon you could ever know them all.

Womack

It's funny you mentioned Nexoe.
This is the 2nd time I am discussing this cultivar today.

I have one but it is small. I offered the first lick to another friend earlier for sometime in the Summer. I'll put you down for 2nd. No promises though. It's all on Mother Nature from here on out.

Rafed's,
That is very kind of you. Tell us a little background on this variety if you don't mind

Womack,

I don't know anything about it. Sorry.

Nexoe is supposed to have been brought to Denmark sometime during the trade guild era (1300s - 1700s). No idea of origin, but my guess is it is from somewhere along the spice trade routes. I saw a photo of it. Looks a lot like Lebanese Red.

Hope Santa will find & send LSU White Honey.

I guess if Santa were to bring me a surprise on Christmas, I'd hope it were Tacoma Violet.

I wish I had the resources to play Santa for everyone but the only tree I have that is large enough to take cuttings from is a Celeste. Nobody has named it yet. Hopefully some more people will get there wish. The generosity of the members so far in this thread once again shows what a great bunch of folks we have here.

"Hey ohjustaguy is the original tree in Norwich NY still there that you know of or can you some how find out"

TONYSAC, I actually do have relatives up there still. I was able to get the email of one from my mother, and she asked around and can't find anyone with the fig. She says the property where the tree was has been bought by people who keep it in disrepair, and it's kind of turned into a dump/junkyard where they throw trash (sad). I did look from google maps satellite view but couldn't make anything out really. It may be small if it's dying back down to the ground every winter. One day I'll get there and confirm it myself. Thank you for offering to help though. It's truly appreciated.
