Saturdays fig gathering

I had a great time as well and I feel like I learned a lot. Seeing a lot of things first hand cleared up a lot of questions I had.

I don't have a problem doing the drive, as you all may already know.
But timing just wasn't right for me this time and last year. Oh well.

I was thinking wouldn't be much better to this type of event in the Mid Summer when everything is just about in full bloom?
Just a suggestion.

I would like to participate in one of these events sometime in the near future.

It is a beautiful thing to have folks from all different walks of life to get together and agree on a subject. And all leave with great big smiles on their faces at the end of the day.

Bass,
Thank you for having us, we had alot of fun and
learned some stuff to. It was great to get to meet
some of the people we talk to on the forum.
Can't wait for the next meeting...
Thank You.

Yes it was a great time learned that I need a jujube in my collection of edible landscape.  Thanks everyone

Another success!

Thanks Bass for hosting the 2nd NE fig-meet.
Your garden-tour was impressive.
Thanks for the [real life] demo about grafting.
Thanks to you, I am venturing to some more rare-fruits.

Thanks Al for your [talk - it not being the right time for doing so] demo about fig pruning.

I almost did not make it - was the very last to arrive (& leave).

Everybody went back home happy with at least 3-6+ new
items - giveaway/raffle/bought items...

Some fig-people, I did see at the 1 st meet (or visit).
Some were new (welcome) faces. At first I was bombarded
with names (I am very bad with remembering names!);
but eventually I got them all by later taking to each individual.
I suggest that for next time we all wear some (cheap)
real-first-name/FF-username (or guest) name-tag.

Thanks to you George for bringing these rare varieties to the meeting as a giveaway. I looked for these name tags but didn't find them where I went shopping, next time we will.

I hope you've enjoyed the fig tour in my area.

Yes Bass,

I did enjoy your special tour, one place that I will always remember is that
very special good old (Syrian) fig-nut-man! Next time you see him, do say
another "hello" from me! I also noticed that he likes olive trees...

One very cheap way to self id oneself - is a 1.5"+ M3 blue painters tape roll,
with its harmless-glue, stuck on ones shirt and with some self sharpie-marked credentials...
(Yes, I do mark+ some of my fig pots too!)

Hi, Bass,

I want to thank you for your hospitality.  We had a GREAT time and learned quite a bit.  I can't wait for the next gathering.  I really enjoyed meeting other Forum members.

Ed got his plants back; we had them mixed in with our plants.  When we returned home and noticed them, we called Ed and arranged to get them back.  They are now safe and sound back with Ed.

George,
I'd like to vote for the name-tags too.

Ed,
I'm glad your new fig trees
found there way home.

Good news for Ed, I went looking around the street thinking Ed might have left them on his car roof and drove off.

Vito it was nice meeting you as well and these fruit pies were delicious. Debbie thanks for the hotdogs and the cole slaw, Barry thanks for the Pretzels. Gorgi thanks for all the nice fig plants. Marcus, Those olives and the dried Italian sausage were delicious. Dan everyone enjoyed your dish as well.
I hope you can visit when I have some ripe fruit so you can sample next time.
