Scorched Alma too much, too soon

I had my fig trees on the porch for a month to harden off, then moved them under the shade trees to acclimate more.   We had days of dreary weather and then a beautiful cloudless day and some figs were moved to get some sun.  Most liked the sun but a few, Preto and Alma both got what looked like rust or sunburn. The were immediately moved back to some filtered light  and new leaves are coming out pretty green and the ugly leaves are still hanging on and I am glad.  Different varieties of fig trees seem to have a way of giving pleasant and some times not so pleasant results with the same environmental changes

Hi C.H.  I had the same thing happen.  With the fig hedge, I was transplanting a lot of figs from inside then to outside part-shade area pots and shaded in ground cutting beds to full sun in the fig hedge.  Most of them did fine, but a few had sunburn.

I'm hoping they will bounce back though, and they probably will.

Best wishes.
