Great story.  We have a rescue dog in our home and it sounds like you just added some rescue figs to yours:).

I bought two figs at our Southern States store and paid $34 a piece for a Black Spanish, and a Lattarula fig (Hope my wife isn't reading this.)  They also had a Celeste, Hardy Chicago and a Peter's Honey Fig.  I couldn't justify buying more and I'm looking forward to February 1st and encantofarms cutting season to add some scions.

I was by the Southern States store the other day and a few of the Honey Fig and Hardy Chicago are still there.  I notice a 75% off table and I am going to keep checking.  I don't mind finding a good deal.

OK Grasa, you asked for it . here are some pic's of the Desert Kings That I took today . I poted them up using a semi-gritty mix (Turface All Sport , Coarse Perlite, Alder Bark and Mushroom compost)

Those are very nice pics with that bright red background!  I wonder how these trees have two large branches from the roots.  Are these the ones you rescued?

I was gifted with desert king cuttings and I am impressed how amazing they grow - quicker and stronger than the others.
