I've been sealing my pinches with Super Glue to stop the sap bleed.  I've been doing this on my test Sucrette for a few months now, with no visible harm to the tree so far.  Just one or two drops and the sap bleed is contained.

Perhaps the elder statesmen on Figs4Fun can chime in if this is just a bad idea using Super Glue instead of Elmers wood glue?

When I make any cuts on my trees I just let the sap drip. It'll stop quickly so there's no need to seal the cut. Your tree won't bleed out and die. As for the super glue, who knows what, if anything, it would do to your trees. I'm guessing that it won't hurt them.

The bleeding is there to seal the cut on its own, the trees have doing this for 1000s years.
If you want to still seal it, use a liquid electrical tape, it is stretchable and comes in different colors. It is also non toxic

The tree will eventually recover whether you use glue or not. I prefer organic gardening and try to keep any chemicals away from soil and plants.

Good to know.  I'll let it self seal next time.  Good thing I'm doing this to my tester.

If you use super glue the plant will learn how to make it and when you bite in to a fig your mouth will be sealed shut.
