Thanks Brent. You motivated me to search out info on updating my terminology. I had always used the term parthenogenesis for this. From what I can see, "parthenogenesis" is a more general term, (and strangely enough, in some usages more specific as well). General in that it is used in zoology and a wider set of organisms (versus apomixis being botanical), and specific in that it has (sometimes, historically) been used specifically for gametophytic processes, i.e. where the embryo arises from an unfertilized ovum, whereas apomixis can be from other cell types in addition to ova. So I guess the terms overlap significantly (for many scenarios both terms apply, but each also has applicability in scenarios where the other does not... i.e. overlapping sets). Interesting linguistic update... thanks for pointing out the usage in botany.
For Ramdan: I'd suggest using the internet to find sources of cuttings rather than seeds.
