Seeking Turkish figs

Thank You Aliok

Holy, mackerel.  That is a LOT of information.  This is going to keep forum members busy for weeks!  Thank you!

yesah, I'm still reading it.....and only half done!

One fact is clear:In Turkey the so called early figs are San Pedro Figs.
They do not require polination for the Breba crops, but needs polination for the second Main crop.
Also even if polinated the main crop on these varieties,is inferior in taste and quality.
We do have a proof cultivar here ,and is called Desert King.
However ,all these early (BREBA!!!!)varieties, are incompatible to be grown outside inground,on the US teritory, except California, and north West, due to early frost in the Spring wich destroy fruits in most years, and lack of fig wasp necesary for the main crop to persist.
We here in the US need cultivars that can produce a very early main crop, preferably would be not to form any breba crop at all but only main crop figs and that as early as possible.
Then as we have enough warm sun in the Sommer a nice bountifull crop of ripe fruits is possible.
So Aliok:If you want to spread turkish figs here, then find cultivars withy early main crop, that are persistent and do not need polination.
I am sure they exist and plenty of them in Northern Turkey, and not in the regions where the fig wasp is present.
