Lol, I'll bet if you started making and selling fig jam from your wonderful varieties, you'd be able to sell every jar you could make.  :)

Great picture of jam, by the way.

Yes, be sure to let us know when you're ready to sell, Bass!

"I will try to make extra and will let you know"

You used the last one? Couldn't get past the mail box? l I understand- it happens to me too lol. I had a bunch of figs I was suppose to freeze over the summer/fall but fruits ended up in my belly. Make more, I will buy. The picture you posted of the preserves looks divine.

Okay, Good news.
I made a big batch and have many jars of "Fig and walnuts Jam".  They are in 8 oz. glass jars and I can ship them out. If you're interested in ordering some email me at bass@treesofjoy.com I can fig up to 4 jars in one box. They're $4.50 a jar.

I made a few jars of Fig jam today.

I know a couple of people that are getting Bass' Fig and Walnut jam for Christmas.

I've tried about 15 different commercial varieties... I found 3 at Wegmans, one at Tops, and about 11 or 12 varieties at HomeGoods stores.  The Fig & Muscat Wine variety from Kozlowski Farms (Sonoma County) (one of the kinds from HomeGoods) is pretty good.  Also Gia Russa from Italy (found it at Tops supermarkets, a regional chain around here).  But I'm kinda anticipating that Bass' variety is probably gonna blow those others away!  (Sent you email Bass, and looking forward to trying it).

Hey Bass old buddy old pal how would someone like me (you know the guy fighting with ebay members about your pic) and having them removed :) how would a guy like that get me some of that Fig jam ???????

Bass,
Wow. Check your email, I have several jars that I want and it has my name all over it

:-)

Are the walnuts raw or toasted?

I bet this fig jam/preserve/spread is good. Saw the picture of it. Bass what type of figs are combined in your recipe? I see RdB at the front label. Most I have seen is Dalmatie, Adriatic, Mission. All sounds enticing. Being able to save your fruits for jam was the hard part. If I had trees like yours, I would have gobbled all the figs on the spot. Thank you for sharing your figs with us

These pics sold me on a jar!
:)

Bob, these are raw walnuts that are carmalizes with the figs.
Jennifer, these are made from Smyrna Turkish dried figs. Sorry, no ROnde de Bordeaux or any fresh figs are frozen. This jam tastes better than fresh fig jam. Not just my opinion but from what others have tasted. I use my mother's old recipe. Made 36 jars so far.

I sent you the payment, I will enjoy. Thank you!

How was it? I have a few jars on order

Very good!  Tastes like fig newton, but 10 times better.  Very sweet.  The walnuts and sesame seed work beautifully together.  I took half a jar to the head last night, spoon in hand.  Good thing I ordered 2 jars!

Finished first jar, should have ordered 52 for one a week.  Very good.  I thought I could get my son to try it and then maybe agree to try figs again, but no go.  He's going to have to learn for himself some day but, at 14, he figures I'm an old fool sometimes. Sometimes I am, I guess. ;)

My 18mo old son loved it.  I just finished my 1st jar for my afternoon snack.  I'm such a pig.

Glad you liked it. I've made over 50 jars already.
I made a sugar free version, it costs more to make, and probably not as geat as the regular recipe. It should be a great substitute for the diabetics.

Hi, I have tried many fig jams, I saw those listed on amazon, there is one by Mitica (spanish pajarero figs) that has almost no sugar added, just some honey, the amazon price is wildly overpriced, it costs about 6.99 for a 7 oz jar in a store, but if you can find a store that sells it they can contact the distributor for a gigantic jar that will last all winter, trust me it is worth it, this is the best one I have ever tried, people come to my home and cry with joy when they try it, the distributor is forevercheese.com but don't even think of ordering direct from them, they don't sell to the public, I tried, trust me.  Just get your hands on one small jar to try, and you will see what I mean.  Good luck!
