Today September's chill has come again. Crisp. Clear. It beckons, reminding me of where our planet is in its path as it hurtles 'round the sun. Almost palpable, this harbinger is saying it comes not to visit, but to stay awhile. The occasion seemed right to take a black fig and a green one too, and hold them in my hand to savor the look and feel of the harvest.
So, here are a couple of pics of a Maltese Falcon (breba I think) and a Peter's Honey. Maybe a couple of other pictures. I haven't split these yet, as I want to await the kids coming home from school to share the moment with them both. So (apologies), the pictures of the open figs will have to wait. (And probably for another day, as time will become compressed and quite busy within the hour, and lasting several days... but I will post pictures of the cross sections and the rest of the usual documentation... patience is).
Enjoy what photos I can post now. More to come.

Maltese Falcon and Peter's Honey, black and green in hand:
The same two figs on a plate:
An unusual Peter's Honey main, on the tree:
And the "twin" Peter's Honey that I can't wait to see once ripe... been watching this one for a few months:
That last one has two eyes, two conjoined quasi-spheres, one stem, and a neck that splits. Conjoined twins.
Please no complaints that the rest of the photos aren't here yet. They will be posted in a few days. Patience is.
