Shipping Outside Your Country ???

Hi All can i put forward a suggestion  to all members about shipping/posting as this site goes world wide and each country has it own customs import & export laws
We all can respect each other  whether  they are willing or not to ship cutting or plants out of there own country
It would save a lot of unnecessary p.m.s & Emails to & from members asking if they ship/post outside there country If each member could put a TAG at the bottom of there post were they advertise cutting / plants to swap/sell saying that they  DO OR DO NOT SHIP TO ----????? COUNTRY

I think this would be much appreciated by fellow members and save repeated  p.m & Emails asking this question thanks

great idea. however, in most cases, the cutting will not be sent overseas due to import/export law from US. there are members who are willing to do so now and then, especially if the cutting being traded is rare type. now.. do you really want that member to post that illegal activity on public forum? it would be safe to say, in general cases, US members will not trade overseas since it's illegal. burden of check if the member is willing to risk it is on the person who is looking for the cutting from other member.

Agree with bullet. It is the person who seeks the cutting needs to PM and ask. The answer could be yes or no; and no response may mean 'no interest'. There is, then, no unnecessary PM.

Pieman,  A way to open a dialog might be to post a request for fellow members open to trade with in the country their country.  If a member from the US wishes to enter the trade then they could contact the person.

You could also add your country to your signature line along with your climate zone so other members will have that information with each of your posts.  Click on the control panel link above your user name.  The signature text box is on the bottom of the page.

Good Luck with trading!

I agree with Jo-Ann.  That signature text box is great, and we should put all that info in there.  Not so sure what DFW  oh!  Dallas/Fort Worth?  See spell it out!!

For $72 a person in the US can get a phytosanitary certificate.  Then it's legal to send cuttings internationally.  If several people in Europe want to have one box sent to a central person who would then reship to others it might be affordable.  It would probably take several people from the US to have enough cuttings to satisfy the wants of several people in Europe.  :)   I'd be happy to serve as the point person in the US.  The recipients would have to choose a point person there and all get together and arrange how to send payments and distribute the goods.  Or, if there's enough interest in trades each side could work out its own logistics.  It would certainly perk up the ears of those of us in the US if you were to send over a bunch of small col de dame gris and noir small plants or cuttings.

Hi Sorry if i have go of on the wrong foot here what i was trying to do was not bombard members with requests for cutting not knowing whether or not they will deliver to me i was just trying to simplify the process where  each member stating whether or not they ship to the U.K so that i do not have to contact  members when they advertise cuttings & asking if they deliver to the U.K. [sending message waiting for reply etc ]as most members live in the U.S.A. i presume that it will be quite hard to swap with these members   lots of waisted time p.m.s &   Emails etc

Bob, what a generous offer. Thank you.
