I have had someone ask me if I can ship cuttings to Bali. Has anyone ever shipped cuttings to Bali before. Does anyone know if they will get through or what the law/ risks might be?Thanks!
Did he has import license ?..... And do you have the phytosanitary for the cuttings ?..... That is the case if you ship it legally..... But in other case if you ship it as regular mail..... Just keep your finger cross..... Hope nothing bad happened...... Ong Jakarta, Indonesia
If you can sort through it, the requirements are here. Even then you'll probably have to have the local ag inspector look it over to determine all the requirements. Generally, the importer has to have a permit, and you have to supply a phyto. Generally the first requirement for issuing the phyto is to physically present the import permit to the inspector who is issuing the phyto.Indonesia requires an import permit. From the website "Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) and Import Permit (IP) are required. Do not certify unless an IP is presented." See https://pcit.aphis.usda.gov/PExD/faces/ViewCommodity.jsp and select "cuttings".
I have shipped to Indonesia, have some facebook friends that I send cuttings to, it takes normally 21 days to arrive to their front door. I guess, Customs holds it for 7-10 days.
Thanks for the info. Sounds like more trouble that it is worth.
i always refuse trade oversea. i heard there is hefty fine if you get caught doing this without proper paper work.
Thanks, Pete. I wondered about that.
