should i take off the smaller fruit?

I live in PNW and my brown turkey has a lot of fruit but most are fairly small.  Should i take off all the smaller fruit and will that help the larger fruit mature and hopefully ripen?  The largest fruit at the moment are about half the size of a regular fruit in size.  BTW, the fig tree is in a large pot.  Thanks

I'm not familiar with your growing conditions, but as a general rule you need about 80 days for a fig to ripen from the time it is formed. If you don't have that much time left, yes remove the smaller ones. They will not ripen in time and do take energy from your tree.

The attached files contain the bigger figs.  I live in Vancouver BC and our growing season is really no later than end of September.  Do you guys think these figs have a chance of ripening.  These are from a Vern's Brown Turkey tree.
