I repotted a few of my figs tonight into larger Home Depot self watering pots. This was the beautiful root mass under my Angelos Dark. If you look close you can see the roots that formed "feet" to reach down into the water reservoir. It really makes you wonder about the need to avoid having fig roots get too wet!

I think not all roots go immediately to the water, so that just a few wick moisture up to the mass where a high and constant humidity is maintained.

In Australia, a 'root' can be very sexy indeed. It's slang for something else!
