Holy moly, I had to pick a Sicilian Black fig early because some little critter has been munching on them. Even though it was a bit premature, The taste was amazing! Extremely sweet, with excellent flavor and the figs love the heat and get pretty big!

They usually get nice and dark when ripe.

I have a little one and it has one fig on it now. I am hoping it becomes my new favorite as well.

Oh wow 31! I only had about 6. Is your location hot? The heat wave the last few days brought out the sweetness. My plant is only 1.5".

Howie,

This past June has been very warm and humid in south Arkansas. I got the plant right before winter. It was almost a foot tall. Freeze killed most of the green woods until about 6in of good hardened wood left above the soil. When spring came, sicilian black and atreano outgrew everything else in the yard.

JR used to have Sicilian Blk. Hence is this variant from him(JR). If I am not mistaken, there are a
few figs known as Sicilian Blk.

Nice to know. I have two rooted from cuttings I received from a very generous forum member this past winter. Now I just need to wait. That's the part I'm not very good at...
